Bergenfield is a Borough in Bergen County with a population of approximately 26,500 residents. The Borough was formed in 1894 from portions of Englewood Township and Palisades Township by an act of New Jersey Legislature. Bergenfield is located less than fifteen miles from Manhattan and is an easy drive via the George Washington Bridge, or a quick train ride via the New Jersey Transit station located in nearby River Edge. Homes in Bergenfield are mostly single-family dwellings, but multi-family homes, condominiums, townhouses, and apartment buildings can be found throughout the Borough.

Bergenfield is a diverse, bustling suburb of New York City. The commercial district is centered on Washington Avenue, which has many restaurants, pizza parlors coffee shops, grocers, and small independent businesses. Bergenfield is located near Route 4 and Route 17, with several large shopping malls and countless big box retail outlets located nearby. Bergenfield offers many recreational programs and holiday celebrations, as well.

Student's in kindergarten through twelfth grade are educated in Bergenfield Public Schools. Bergrnfield Public Schools serve approximately 3,900 students in seven schools. There are five elementary schools in town, and students in grades 6-8 attend the Roy W. Brown Middle School. Hich school students attend Bergenfield High School, which has approximately 1,150 students.
