Located just thirteen and a half miles west of New York City, Paramus, New Jersey is a ten and a half square mile city with a population of approximately 27,000 residents. The city is located in the center of Bergen County and is in close proximity to the Garden State Parkway and routes 4 and 17, allowing convenient commutes to both New York City and points throughout Bergen County.

Paramus is well known for its multitude of shopping and entertainment options. The city is home to five major indoor shopping centers, including the famous Garden State Plaza and Paramus Park and Paramus Fashion Center on Route 17 and the Bergen Mall and the Mall at IV on Route 4. Paramus also offers a variety of entertainment activities, including a Loews theatre with ten movie cinemas and a Triplex located next to the Garden State Plaza.

Paramus provides numerous educational opportunities, and offers both public and private schools. The Paramus Public School District serves students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade and includes five elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. Three of the District’s schools have been designated National Blue Ribbon Schools: Paramus High School, Parkway Elementary School and Ridge Ranch Elementary School.

Paramus is also home to Paramus Catholic High School, the largest Roman Catholic high school in the State of New Jersey, Yavneh Academy, a Jewish day school and the Frisch School, a Modern Orthodox Jewish Yeshiva serving high school students. Bergen Community College is also located within the city of Paramus.
