Connected to Staten Island, New York by the Bayonne Bridge, Bayonne, New Jersey offers a fast commute to midtown and downtown Manhattan, a diverse population and a variety of real estate for sale in Hudson County. When it was completed in 1931, the Bayonne Bridge was the longest steel arch bridge ever constructed. Today, it is the third longest bridge of its type in the world, following the Lupa Bridge in Shanghai and the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia.

The public school system in Bayonne offers its residents ten elementary schools comprising kindergarten through eighth grades, and one high school, Bayonne High School, which holds grades nine through twelve. In recent years, one of Bayonne’s elementary schools, Mary J. Donahue School, was named a “Star School”, which is the highest honor a NJ school can achieve, by the NJ Department of Education.
