Located less than ten miles west of New York City, Secaucus is a six and a half square mile city with a population of approximately 16,000 residents. The city is located in the northwest corner of Hudson County and is in close proximity to the New Jersey Turnpike and Route 3, allowing convenient access to both New York City and points throughout Hudson County.

Secaucus is well known for its multitude of shopping and entertainment options and residents and visitors alike enjoy the diverse shopping available in the city. There are several large retail areas in Secaucus, including the Mall at Mill Creek, located on Route 3 and The Outlets, a collection of outlet shopping in the southwest corner of the city. Just off of Route 3 is Secaucus Plaza, commonly thought of as the city’s “downtown”.
 
Secaucus offers a variety of entertainment options and is home to the men’s soccer team, the MetroStars, which is a member of Major League Soccer. Secaucus is home to the headquarters of several news and television stations, including the UPN’s flagship station WWOR-TV, and MSNBC.
 
The Secaucus Public School District serves students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade and includes two elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.
